HAITI DISASTER RELIEF APPEAL
THE SITUATION
On Tuesday, 12 January an earthquake measuring 7.0 hit Haiti, near Port-au-Prince, with up to 33 aftershocks ranging in magnitude from 4.2 to 5.9. Haiti, which is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, has been devastated, with many buildings leveled.
Rescue teams are working to try to free the thousands who are trapped under rubble, with government officials estimating the death toll may exceed 100,000.
It has also been estimated that 3 million people are in need of emergency aid, particularly water, food, shelter and medical assistance. Experts are saying this could be one of the worst earthquake disasters in human history!
THE RESPONSE
ACC World Relief has launched a Disaster Relief Appeal to help affected communities.
All funds raised will be passed onto our partner organisation, Convoy of Hope, who are already working on the ground in Haiti. Convoy of Hope has been working in Haiti for several years and their fully stocked warehouse has enabled them to respond immediately by distributing food, water and supplies to victims of the earthquake.
ACC World Relief recently partnered with Convoy of Hope in the 2009 Samoa Tsunami relief efforts.

HEY -DONT MISS - Key Event: VictoryLiFe Family Camp 2010 March 19th -20th!
We have our Family camp for "VictoryLife" - Planned for March 2010. This is a Friday 6pm to Satruday 4pm -ish event! There will be a booking registrar with the church co-ordinator to monitor numbers and to overall help with any Questions,( Beth Davies). If you choose to join us at this camp, please registrar by the 21st of February. Grab a camp flyer and RSVP by 21st of February this will be the last weekend before school holidays commence and the last weekend of day lights saving time. Come and make the most of it!

For those who are not able to stay - you are still invited to join us during the day, and hang out with us! A combined BBQ will be planned for the Saturday lunch. (If you are only up for the day and wish to have lunch with us you will need to registra your name and a small cost to cover lunch will be charged.) Each family is asked to birng along something for Friday night supper!
WATER BAPTISM POEM:
On Sunday the 24th of January we as a church family and a number of visitors and guests joined us in witnessing 6 believers go through the waters of Baptism. One such lady, Judy, read out a poem, which was a great blessing for all who heard, we feel to share this with you….
WATER BAPTISM
Lord I have always believed in You,
I was taught of Your ways from the start.
I heard all the stories and said all my prayers,
And reserved You a place in my heart.
I usually worshipped on Sundays,
I usually saved You a spot.
If questions arose I would speak of my faith,
Though once in awhile I forgot.
I knew of the babe in a manger,
I believed that You rose from the dead.
I knew it was me who You died for,
And studied the words that You said.
I brought up my children as Christians,
And tried hard to show them the way.
I taught them that You were the author of life,
And that You are close by when we pray.
My title had always been Christian,
I knew what the church was about.
I knew that You cared about all that I did,
And of that there was never a doubt.
But now I’m aware of a difference,
Now there’s a hunger for more.
I’m yearning to draw even closer.
It just wasn’t like that before.
Your glory surrounds me in worship.
I speak in a voice You can hear.
I whisper Your name when I need You,
And sense that Your presence is near.
I carry a burden for others,
Who chose not to answer Your call.
I desperately want them to know You,
And pray that not one of them fall.
This closeness I have with You now Lord,
Is glorious and it is sweet.
And to be baptized with water,
Will make my commitment complete.
So I come to You ever so humbly.
Lord I have answered Your call.
I know that my life has a purpose,
My father, my Savior, my all.
