Introducing Drug Proofing Your Kids in 2010.

This is an education prevention and intervention program developed by Focus on the Family Australia, motivated by the increasing drug problems among young people and the frustrated attempts by parents to steer children away from the harmful use of drugs.

This is a 6 week (plus introductory night) of 7 sessions, to help parents not feel alone.

How does this program help parents?  

The "How To Drug Proof Your Kids"®  program has been created to equip and empower parents to know how to address drug-related issues with their child.

Parents are also encouraged to evaluate how their own attitudes, beliefs, and behaviour can influence the lifestyle choices made by their child.
 Discover how to: 

  • Help your children make informed decisions.  Deal with peer pressure and cultural relevant responses.
  • How to respond if your children are taking drugs.
  • Parental prevention tools.
  • Understanding why kids take drugs?
  • Becoming more aware of the dangers around the home environment that lend themselves to drug usage.

We are looking to launch DPYK in the second or third term of 2010, bookings will be essential and a cost included. Parents receive a parent note book containing 100 pages of notes, exercises and reference materials to help equip them.

COUNSELING GOD'S WAY - A BIBLICAL COUNSELING COURSE

A special invitation is available for those who would like to increase their ability and skills in learning how to help people.  Bookings are essential for the next course planned, held weekly at VictoryLife.  Please feel free to contact the office during working hours to find out more. This is a Biblicial counseling course that is presented by Ps Ken Legg via a DVD classroom format.

Counseling is really about two people agreeing to work together to find a common solution to a problem faced.  Today there are many variations to counseling techniques around, and we don't presume to know all the answers.  The bible says that the Holy Spirit is the Wonderful Counselor and we seek to Know God's wisdom and guidance in all matters and life's difficulties.

We also have trained counselors available to work with you regarding ongoing problems and controlling issues.

We know when our limits are reached and we also provide a referral basis for specialised care.

A service offering couples pre-marriage counseling, support and assistance with wedding preparation.  In today's society the pressure on marriage both Christian and unchurched is increasing.  We are doing all that we can to help stem the pressure on marriage by offering special trained counsellors to lift your marriage and to better equip your relationship skills!

Through practical workshop and marriage enhancement retreats available, we believe these offer a great starting point to protect your biggest investment - Marriage!

KEENAGERS/SENIORS
The Seniors program includes monthly Life Group studies, outings and special functions, designed to help adults live life magnificently, with vision, joy and confidence in God.

WEDDINGS
Pastors assist couples in arranging and conducting wedding ceremonies.

A FUNNY STORY 
A lawyer, a doctor, and a pastor went hunting together. As they walked through the bush they came upon a large deer. The three of them shot simultaneously and immediately the buck dropped to the ground. All three rushed to see how big it was. Upon reaching it they found it was dead but they could only find one bullet hole. An animated debate followed concerning who had actually shot it. A few minutes later a game officer came by and asked what the problem was. The doctor explained the reason for their debate. The officer told them that he would take a look and tell them who shot it. Five seconds later he said he knew who shot the deer. He said with much confidence: "The pastor shot the Deer!" They all wondered why he knew that so quickly. The officer replied: "Easy – the bullet went in one ear and out the other".
